Challenge

Al Ahsa is not one story but many. It is the largest oasis in the world, a place shaped over centuries by its craftspeople, its historic sites and the daily life of the people who call it home. The challenge was to hold all of this in a single city promo, to capture the heritage, the artistry and the living culture of Al Ahsa with the depth they deserve, and to deliver it to a cinematic standard from first concept through to final master, entirely in-house.

Solution

We approached Al Ahsa as a full in-house production, developed and delivered end to end by Stock Stop. The concept was built around the people of the city. We cast real artisans and local talents rather than models, and filmed across the oasis and its most significant historic sites. We recorded the city’s live band on location and composed an original score written specifically for the film, so that the sound belonged to Al Ahsa and to nowhere else. The entire piece was shot on the RED Helium 8K, giving every frame the detail and richness the subject called for.

Final Video

In post-production, we brought image and sound together. The footage was graded to carry the warmth and texture of the oasis, and the original score was mixed and layered with the live recordings to give the film its own distinct voice. Every element, from the first frame to the final master, was finished in-house and signed off to broadcast standard.
