Traditional silk making in a remote village

Traditional Silk Making, From Silkworm to Thread

Silk making here starts with raising silkworms on mulberry leaves until they spin their cocoons, a process that takes patience and precision.

The cocoons are harvested by hand, cleaned of the sticky sericin that binds them, then unwound and spun into threads ready for weaving. It is slow, careful work that demands skill and attention to detail at every stage.

In this remote village, families have passed the craft down for generations. The film is part of our series of heritage documentaries.
