Hiring a photographer in Riyadh is easy. Hiring the right one for what you actually need is the part people get wrong, usually because nobody asked what the pictures are for before the shutter started going.
Photography is rarely a standalone job for us. It usually runs alongside filming, which is why we think about it this way.
Event, portrait and product are different jobs
Event photography is about reading a room and not missing the moment. Portraits are about lighting and putting people at ease. Product work is about control and patience. Some photographers do all three well, most are better at one, and it is fair to ask which.
How many pictures do you actually need?
Clients often ask for every frame and then use nine. Agree the number of finished, edited images and what they are for. Four hundred raw files nobody has time to look through is not a deliverable.
Turnaround
If the pictures are for social while the event is still on, say so before the day, because that changes how we shoot and how we edit. Same day selects are possible when they are planned, and painful when they are a surprise.
What to send beforehand
A schedule, the names of anyone who must appear, the brand colours, and where the images will run. Those four things raise the hit rate more than any amount of equipment.
What a photographer in Riyadh should be asking you
If nobody asks what the pictures are for, where they will run and who has to appear in them, treat it as a warning. Those three answers change the lens, the lighting and the whole shape of the day, and a photographer who does not ask is guessing.
“Clients ask for every frame and then use nine. Agree the nine.”
