Stock Stop handled a product photography shoot for a Cotina brand, managing the photography, lighting, direction and production coordination on the day. We also sourced props and brought a cat and a dog onto the set to build a warmer lifestyle setting around the products. This is how the shoot came together.
The Cotinas were the starting point. Rather than photographing the products against a plain background, our job was to build a setting that reflected how they are worn: at home, at ease and as part of an everyday routine. The team brought props onto the set to shape that environment and give the photographer more depth to work with in each frame. Every object needed to support the clothing without pulling attention away from it.
The cat and dog added another layer to the shoot. Animals bring movement and personality into a photograph, but they do not work to a fixed schedule. The crew had to remain patient and adjust around their natural behavior rather than force each moment. That flexibility gave the images a more relaxed and lived-in quality, so the products felt part of a real environment rather than placed into a set.
Our DOP handled the photography, building each composition around the products, props and available space. The lighting assistant prepared and adjusted the lights throughout the shoot so the colors and textures of the Cotina remained clear. At the same time, the director guided the overall visual approach and checked how every element worked together inside the frame.
Our producer stayed on set throughout the production, coordinating the crew, organizing the schedule and managing the practical details behind each setup. With clothing, props, animals and several crew roles involved, clear communication kept the shoot moving. Everyone understood their responsibility, which allowed the team to make adjustments without losing the direction of the campaign.
The finished photographs may feel simple and natural, but that result depends on the decisions made before the camera is raised. The lighting, composition, props and movement around the product all shape how the audience experiences it. For a Cotina brand, the aim was not only to show the clothing. It was to create a sense of comfort around it.
“The product leads the frame. Everything around it helps tell the story.“
